Accra, Ghana – The Parliamentary Select Committee on Defence and Interior recently conducted a working visit to the Ghana Police Service, highlighting the critical need for enhanced logistical support to boost police visibility and operational efficiency. The visit, aimed at understanding the service’s operations and challenges, saw committee members engage with police leadership and receive a comprehensive briefing on their activities.
The Chairman of the Committee, James Agalga lauded the Ghana Police Service for its unwavering dedication and encouraged continued efforts in crime combat. He specifically emphasized the necessity for additional armored vehicles, pickup trucks, and motorbikes to enable the police to broaden their reach and improve incident response times.
Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, presented a detailed overview of the service’s achievements and outlined existing hurdles. He called for collaborative efforts with the committee to devise sustainable solutions to enhance police operations, expressing gratitude for the committee’s visit and their interest in the service’s welfare and development.
