The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has paid a working visit to the University of Ghana Health Services Directorate ahead of his upcoming parliamentary briefing on the COVID-19 situation in the country. The visit aimed to obtain firsthand information on recent developments related to COVID-19.
During the visit, the Minister engaged with the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Gordon Akanzuwine Awanare, who provided updates on the university’s COVID-19 response. The university had recently recorded a spike in positivity rates, prompting precautionary measures, but the situation has since improved and is currently under control.
The Minister also visited the University of Ghana Medical Centre and the Legon Student Clinic, where he interacted with staff and patients. He commended the university for its proactive response and encouraged stronger collaboration with the Ministry of Health to improve healthcare delivery and safeguard public health.
