Accra, Ghana – The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) has called for European Union support to enhance its capacity in attracting and facilitating investments into the West African nation. The request was made by GIPC CEO Mr. Simon Madjie during the 2025 Ghana-EU Partnership Dialogue held in Accra.

The high-level event saw the attendance of Ghanaian President H.E. John Dramani Mahama, Head of the EU Delegation to Ghana Mr. Irchad Razaaly, and was hosted by Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa.
Mr. Madjie outlined ongoing reforms at the GIPC, including a review of the GIPC Act, aimed at improving operational efficiency and regulatory strength. To complement these internal changes, he specifically requested EU-backed training programs to equip GIPC staff with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of the modern investment landscape. He also sought EU assistance in identifying and mapping investment opportunities across Ghana, as the Centre intensifies its regional outreach efforts to promote local investment.

The EU delegation responded positively to Mr. Madjie’s proposals, indicating strong interest in fostering deeper collaboration to enhance trade, investment, and sustainable development between Ghana and the European Union.
