President John Dramani Mahama, Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, has commissioned 163 Officer Cadets of Regular Career Course 63 into the GAF after 18 months of training at the Ghana Military Academy in Teshie. The President praised the exceptional standards of training at the Academy and urged the newly commissioned officers to remain resolute and committed to improving the legacy of their predecessors.
In his address, President Mahama reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding and modernizing the Academy to equip the GAF to the standard of a 21st-century defense force. He also announced plans to assess the retooling initiative to facilitate cost-effective outcomes. This upgrade aligns with the government’s commitment to establishing the National Defence University, which will serve as a strategic academic hub for both military personnel and civilian professionals.
