Governance expert asks President Akufo-Addo to summon all Security Chiefs

A 44 year old woman has been stabbed to death in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.

The woman was returning from work when the robbers accosted her leading to her stabbing.

This latest incident adds up to the recent spate of armed robbery and insecurity in the country.

Despite assurances from the police hierarchy that they are on top of the issue, some security experts are calling for military intervention.

Radio Ghana is picking up reports that the minority in parliament is planning to file an urgent motion to summon the Minister for the Interior, Defence and the National Security to brief the House on the country’s security situation.

Meanwhile, Governance Expert Professor, Baffour Agyeman Duah, says sacking the IGP is not the solution to the problem.

He said the problem is bigger that the IGP. He called for collaboration between all the security agencies.

Professor Baffour Agyemany Duah says President Akufo Addo must as a matter urgency summon all the Security heads to answer for the rise in armed robbery in the country.
