Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has indicated Government’s readiness to study existing best practices elsewhere to help enact the appropriate legislation to help indigenous businesses to thrive.
He said government is to poised to create an enabling environment to attract more investments into the country.
Dr. Bawumia made these comments when the management of Kantanka Automobile Limited called on him at the presidency in Accra.
The Chief Executive Officer of Kantanka Automobile Limited, Kwadwo Safo Jnr. appealed to Government to provide the policy guidelines for the manufacturing or assembling of cars in Ghana.
He said the absence of such a legislation is hampering the growth of Ghanaian companies seeking to invest in the vehicle manufacturing sector.
He bemoaned the fact that cars manufactured in Ghana by Kantanka Automobile are charged the same duty and levies as vehicles manufactured elsewhere.
