NPP activist fighting against DCE nominee poisoned to death

An activist of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Ayensuano Constituency of the Eastern region has been poisoned to death.
The deceased, Emmanuel Koranteng popularly Known as Otega was polling station executive of the NPP.
He was leading a group of NPP supporters agitating against Madam Florence Governor, the Ayensuano District Chief Executive nominated by President Akuffo Addo last Wednesday.
The late Emmanuel Koranteng was scheduled to organize a press conference and protest against the President’s nominee today, Sunday April 30, 2017 at Teacher- Mante.
He was very influential in the constituency commanding many of the party supporters particularly in Teacher Mante township. It is not clear if the poison incident is linked to the political agitation against the DCE or not.
A family source tells Kasapa News, the deceased complained about severe stomach pains and subsequently vomited green-coloured fluid and was rushed to the Hospital but died later.
The family source claim, autopsy report has confirmed that the deceased was poisoned.
The Member of Parliament for Ayensuano and some NPP constituency executives on Saturday visited the bereaved family to sympathize with them.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at Omenako Mortuary near Suhum.
