By Papa Kwesi NduomThursday night reminded me of Brazil. World Cup. I was there with my family and some employees. We wore our national colors in airplanes, at airports, in restaurants, everywhere. We boasted about our world class Muntari, Ayew, Asamoah Gyan, Essien and others. We engaged in serious “baakye, baakye”. The Brazilian fans supported us. And then….poof! Our confident balloon was deflated unceremoniously.
When the Egyptians and Cameroonians threatened before AFCON to prevent us from winning the cup again, I shouted loudly, “Onaapo!”
Luckily I did not bet with money. And now I find out that some citizens were supporting Cameroon to win on Thursday because of politics. Ebei O!
Win or lose, I am for the Black Stars forever. I will even watch Saturday’s third place match with enthusiasm.
But, please, Black Stars, “don’t do us like that!”
