Source: adomonlinChairman of the Western Regional Football Association, Kojo Yanka has blamed the Youth and Sports Minister for the Ghana Black Stars’s loss in Alexandria. The Black Stars lost by 2:0 against the Egyptians on Sunday in Alexandria with Mohammed Salah and El-Said giving them three more vital points.
After two matches played in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, the seven times African Champions are now leading Group E with six points whiles the Black Stars have just a point making qualification for the 2018 World Cup very difficult.
Ahead of the match, FA spokesperson Sannie Darra had indicated that Nii Lante Vanderpuye has done everything for the team to have a victory in Alexandria but the Western Regional Football chairman believes the sports minister should still be blamed for the loss.
“I am very surprised the team couldn’t win in Alexandria because we were all optimistic that we were going to win”.
“The players did their best to win but I blame the sports minister for the defeat in Alexandria because as a sports minister you don’t behave like this. The minister has failed to do what previous ministers did and if he continues like this he will collapse Ghana football.
“He has failed to hold meetings with the Football Association which previous sports ministers did and as a sports minister, if you want the country to qualify for the world cup you don’t behave like that.
“I still believe that we can still qualify for the world cup if only the minister and the Football Association unites but if the minister fails to do that then we should forget about going to Russia. The sports minister needs to do what is expected of him”, Kojo Yanka said.
