Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has disclosed he has not smoked weed for the past four years.
Speaking to Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Wednesday, the ‘Mahama Paper’ hit maker said he decided to quit smoking because he realized there was no need as he is already hyper when he goes on stage.
According to him, it was a personal decision he took and has never been in a rehab to check his addiction to the substance, adding that he is prepared to have his blood tested by a certified doctor to prove his claim.
“I told myself certain things and I was like I need to continue with my career and I really want to grow up well. I asked God why do I want to stop this, you are already hyper and when you go on stage you are good, so no need for wee but I must be honest once in a while I will not lie, when I’m in the studio I just want to take cigarette and I think that is okay for now, not to do it so much.”
Shatta Wale added that he has a couple of songs that preach about drug abuse.
