NDC replaces Afram Plains South parliamentary candidate

The Eastern Regional Executive Committee after extensive consultations with Afram Plains South party executives and National Secretariat of the ruling National Democratic Congress has replaced Joseph Appiah Boateng with Kevor Mark-Oliver as the Party’s Parliamentary Candidate for Afram Plains South Constituency for the up-coming 2016 Parliamentary Elections.

A statement dated September 30, and copied to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, (GBC), this morning, October 1, said the decision became necessary upon the decision of Joseph Appiah Boateng to voluntarily withdraw his candidature as our candidate for the upcoming Parliamentary elections.

The statement which was signed by the Eastern Regional Chairman, Bismark Tawiah Boateng, said for the avoidance of doubt, it is informing the public, that Mr. Kevor Mark-Oliver is the new Parliamentary Candidate for the Afram Plains South Constituency.

Mr. Kevor has however, successfully filed his nomination at the District office of the Electoral Commission at the close of work yesterday.

It said the party was mindful of the timing and the need for party cohesion at the Constituency in arriving at this decision.

And therefore, urge all stakeholders to uphold the decision.
