Kotoko failed to beat Hearts at the Baba Yara Stadium by drawing 1-1 in week 21 of the Ghana Premier league (GPL).
The Porcupine Warriors scored through Kwame Boateng in the 17th minute and six minutes after recess the Phobians equalised through Patrick Razak.
After the goal the Phobians looked very alive and created chances but it was Black Stars goalkeeper Ernest Sowah who was on hand to deny Ibrahim Musah and Paul Acquah in quick succession on the 74th and the 78th minute.
There was a last minute chance for Hearts of Oak’s Patrick Razak who tried to be too clever but his attempted shot was easily held by Ernest Sowah who was in great shape for the Porcupine Warriors.
The result means Hearts still maintain their league lead with 38-points with Kotoko staying at the fourth position with 33- points.
Hearts’ Inusah Musah was adjudged the best player of the clash and the Phobians return to Accra to face Ashgold in week 22 on Wednesday.
