One of Ghana’s swimmers for next month’s Olympic Games, Kaya Forson, has been cleared by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) over her nationality switch.
Forson, who held both a Canadian and a Spanish passport earlier, has successfully secured a Ghanaian passport with the necessary documentations which has aided her acquisition of an accreditation for the multi-sport event.
With just 17 days to the competition, the Chef de Mission for Ghana’s campaign Chris Eslifie said Kaya’s clearance completes the country’s package for the event in Brazil.
“Accreditation for all athletes has been sorted with Kaya Forson being the final one due to last minute submission. She was on a supplementary list and she has been sorted”, Eslifie told Starr Sports.
