Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has described the opposition New Patriotic Party as a bunch of self-seeking individuals who are only interested in their individual progress rather than the citizenry.
According to him, the motto of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition exposes their parochial intent.
Addressing members of the newly created political group, ‘Young professionals for John Mahama and Amissah Arthur’ at the University of Professional Studies, Mr. Amissah-Arthur said the NDC is committed to creating a society where opportunities are open to all regardless of their social or family backgrounds.
“Our vision is to create a compassionate nation based on meritocracy as compared to our opponents who are self-seeking because their own motto tells you what they are about…property-owning democracy…property for me not to expand opportunity for all,” he said.
He challenged the students to endeavor to take up challenges outside their comfort zone since that is one sure way to succeed. He also advised them to avoid being cynical towards the development of the country.
