Accra Hearts of Oak climbed to the summit of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League table after recording an emphatic 3-1 victory over Bechem United on matchday 4.

Experienced forward Sam Yeboah scored the only goal of the first half before midfielders Mustapha Essuman and Isaac Mensah took turns to register their goals in the second half – 3-0.

The Phobians, however, had their defensive record finally broken after 4 games as John Nyamekye pulled one back for the visitors at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Hearts jump to the 1st position with 10 points – 2 better than Wa All Stars and Dreams who occupy 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

At the Golden City Park, goals from captain Sadick Adams did all the damage as Berekum Chelsea stretched further their over three-year home invincibility record in a 2-0 win over Asante Kotoko.

The former Atletico Madrid trainee produced two quick-fire goals which the porcupine warriors had no antidote to. Adams opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before doubling up three minutes later. Kotoko thus dropped further to 14th place with Chelsea climbing to 10th position.

Latif Blessing scored the only goal in the game between Liberty Professionals and new boys Techiman City at the Carl Reindorf Park while Inter Allies frustrated a dominant New Edubiase Utd to a barren draw at the Len Clay Stadium.

Star-studded Aduana Stars finally secured their first full points with a 1-0 win over academy boys WAFA SC at the Dormaa Park. Reinstated captain Godfred Saka scored the only goal via a first-half penalty, giving Romanian coach Cioaba Aristica a first win on his comeback to the club.

AshantiGold produced a late fight and forced out a draw against Sekondi Hasaacas at the Esipong Stadium on Sunday. Eric Bekoe gave the hosts the lead after converting a penalty but the Miners pulled level through Kadri Mohammed with two minutes from full time.

On Saturday, Dreams FC and Wa All Stars played out a 1-1 draw at the Dawu Park. Wahidu Mumuni’s 35th-minute free-kick strike cancelled out an early lead by the hosts. Emmanuel Lomotey had given Dreams the lead in the 15th minute.

Medeama’s game with Ebusua Dwarfs has been postponed to due to the former’s involvement in the CAF Confederation Cup this weekend.
