Wenger angry over Arsenal’s defeat to Swansea

Arsene Wenger said he was ‘not in the mood’ to discuss Arsenal’s Premier League title bid after defeat to Swansea on Wednesday.

The Gunners missed the chance to close the gap to the summit to three points following Leicester’s draw on Tuesday as Ashley Williams grabbed a second-half winner for relegation-threatened Swans at Emirates Stadium.

Wenger’s side had gone in front through Joel Campbell when the 23-year-old smartly converted a chipped through ball from Alexis Sanchez.

But Wayne Routledge and Williams sealed an unlikely comeback win for Francesco Guidolin’s men as Arsenal remained three points off Tottenham and a further three behind Claudio Ranieri’s leaders.

“At the moment I am worrying more about the result,” said Wenger, when asked how the loss would affect Arsenal’s title bid.

“We’ve just lost three games and that is always a very difficult moment for the team.

“So at the moment we don’t dream, we have to be realistic and come back to what we do well. And do the basics.

“We want the focus to be on trying to win the next game, and we won’t talk about the title tonight. I’m not in the mood to do that tonight.

“It’s a big disappointment and we have to swallow that and bounce back.”
