Shell managers take over customer service at pumps

VIVO Energy, the marketers and distributors of Shell-branded fuels and lubricants in Ghana, say the deregulation exercise has challenged the company to put customers’ needs first.

Celebrating its Customer Contact Day, managers of the company served at various fuel stations across the country and presented souvenirs such as air refreshers, dusters among others to customers.

According to the retail manager of Vivo Energy, Kwame Ackah, the company has begun an exercise to expand its presence in Accra to offer more convenience to motorists.

“You can find more shell stations in Accra where we didn’t use to be, we are there. The first thing the customers look for in any purchasing decision is convenient location before they look at your brand quality… We have seen good improvement in our sales,” Ackah said.

The Airport and 37 Military Hospital branches of Shell were the focal points during the Customer Day. Most of the customers expressed delight and called on other fuel stations to emulate same.
