Officials of the Electoral Commission have suspended voting in the Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency of the Ashanti region in the ongoing presidential and parliamentary primaries of the ruling National Democratic Congress.
The NDC Chairman in that area, Mr. Akroma Dickson said they suspended the elections due to the inability of EC officials to transport electoral materials to the polling stations in time.
“As at 12 noon, the materials had not arrived. They are not even in. So because we may not be able to get it fixed, we took the decision to postpone it.”
Voting in that area has been postponed to Sunday, November 22.
Elections in two other constituencies, New Edubiasi in the Ashanti region and Ningo-Prapram in the Greater-Accra region have also been postponed to Sunday.
Meanwhile, injunctions have been placed on six out of the 275 constituencies.
These constituencies are Akwatia, Ketu South, North Tongu, Nkwanta South, Bunkpurugu, Chiana Paga.
