A Brazilian soccer referee will undergo a psychological evaluation after brandishing a handgun during an amateur match in Brazil.
Video surfaced this week showing referee Gabriel Murta pulling the weapon on players from Brumadinho and Amantes da Bola, a pair of clubs in Brazil’s lower leagues.
Cooler minds prevailed when one of Murta’s assistants stepped in while players backed away upon seeing the gun.
Murta is also a policeman, according to a report from ‘The Guardian’.
It’s unclear if he will continue to referee in the South American nation, where a number of officials have been assaulted in similar on-field disputes
