ECG cuts power supply to GBC

The Electricity Company of Ghana has cut power supply to the towers which transmit signals of the State Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) to residents in the Volta region.

The power service provider is cutting supply to indebted institutions as part of a national exercise to rid its fold of indebted institutions across the country.

The exercise is expected to help the power distributing company retrieve millions of cedis owed by key state and private institutions.

ECG has been struggling to recover monies owed it by institutions across the country over the last couple of years.

Some of the affected institutions in the Volta region also include the NADMO office.

The ECG has also cut power supply to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital and the Cape Coast Sports Stadium over a twenty-four million cedis debt.
