August 22 2015 Chicago IL: Nana Addai Baffour (Asantefuohene), Nana Abena Amponsah (Asantefuohemaa), Sub-Chiefs, Elders and the General Membership of Asanteman Association of Chicago and Midwest (AACM) led the the Ghanaian community to celebrate the life of the late Mr. Anthony Sarfo Kwateng. The celebrations took place at the Adrianna’s Banquet hall, 2024 W. 163rd Street, Markham IL 60428. There were about 800 people from all walks of life and all over the world to celebrate the life of the late Mr. Kwateng, who was an elder in the Ghanaian community. The late Mr. Kwateng’s contributions to the Ghanaian community was immense. Through Oakley Construction Co. Inc. a company he partnered with Mr. Augustine Afriyie gave employment to Ghanaians, and contributed financially to community programs such as the annual Ghanafest and Ghana’s independence celebrations.
The Ghanaian community in Chicago wishes Mrs. Mary Kwateng and the entire Kwateng family our deepest condolences for such a huge loss. It is our prayer that the good Lord who gives and takes back would find a peaceful resting place for our dear friend, uncle, father and grandfather till we meet again.
