Prestige Society’s 2015 Summer Cookout was great !

Chicago, Saturday August 01, 2015: – Prestige Society African Women Achievers of Chicago ( PSAWAC) had another successful fundraising cookout at the Jackson Park, 62nd and Stony Island.

PSAWAC is a non-profit organization. The organization was formed in 2002 by a few Ghanaian women in Chicago. Their aim is to help as many under-privileged and deserving children both at home, in Ghana and in the Chicago metropolitan area. To date they have awarded scholarships, provided sponsorship to under-privileged kids in Ghana and donated condoms to the HIV/AID Clinic in Korle Bu . They also donated mattresses, bed sheets and electronic thermometers to the children’s ward of the Polyclinic wing of Korle Bu teaching Hospital in Accra. The main financial support for their programs are donations from members of the organization and periodic fundraising such as this year’s fundraising cookout. They have also served food to children in the Chicago metropolitan area.

The Korle Bu Polyclinic is still in need of Bed sheets, Wheel chairs, Drip stands, Suctions machines, Electronic thermometers, Trolleys, Flow-meters and Diagnostic sets. There are still kids in the Chicago metropolitan area who need services provided by the PSAWAC to fight off the pangs of hunger! The organization uses 100 percent of donations for the courses they support!
