The Accra Metropolitan Assembly has demolished several structures at the Neoplan station around the Nkrumah Circle in Accra.
City authorities returned to the area Monday morning to complete the demolition exercise they started on Friday.
They are acting on the Presidential directive for the demolition of unauthorized structures following the June 3 floods.
The demolition also follows a similar exercise at Ghana’s biggest slum Sodom and Gomorrah where over 50,000 people were displaced.
Traders around the Neoplan station who had their properties destroyed have lashed out at the city authorities for failing to give them enough time to pack their belongings.
The AMA has, however, warned that it would continue with its vigorous demolition exercise until all illegal structures are demolished.
