The Weija Police in Accra, Ghana, has mounted a search for a 33-year-old American woman, Bertha Calixto Montanez and her two children Ivan Mwinnie Calixto Musah, 4, and Ariella Calixto Musah, 2, who have been reported missing.
It has been almost one week since they went missing, and investigators say they suspect foul play.
The brown skinned Latina is married to a Ghanaian, Ivan Musah.
The two met when Ivan went to the United States to study. They got married and came to Ghana with their children in October 2013 and have been working on integrating the family into the Ghanaian community.
Musah’s father, Mr. Cheyuo Musah, first reported Bertha and the missing children on June 28, 2015, telling the police they had not been seen all day after leaving their home in Weija.
They were last seen at 10:30am on Saturday, June 27, 2015.
Cheyuo Musah, told StarrFMonline.com a neighbour said Montanez “mentioned she was taking the children to the West Hills Mall at Weija to buy them pizza” and they have not returned since then.
Musah fears his daughter-in-law and his grandchildren may have been abducted.
Bertha Calixto Montanez holds a USA passport with reference number 458376941.
The police has appealed to the public to report their whereabouts to the Old Weija Police Station or the nearest police post.
