‘Bhim Nation’ commander, Stonebwoy has won the enviable Artiste of the Year award at the 2015 Vodafone Ghana music awards ceremony.
The “Baafira” hit maker who was also the biggest winner of the night after winning four different categories had some profound words to say to his fans.
An emotional Stonebwoy read out a poetic speech.
“Good morning Ghana, good morning to everybody watching at home. This award doesn’t belong to me alone, to everybody who believes in hard work, humility and in my talent,” he said.
The ‘Artiste of the Year’ was keenly contested by Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Daddy Lumba, MzVee, Samini and Guru and Ghanaian fans chose the ‘Pull up’ singer as the king of all.
“From out of the rocky field, we broke all odds, gone through the eyes of the needle. Every advantage taken of us became lessons, every inch we turned into an acre. Behold how large we have become. Every stone thrown at us became lessons. Behold how tall we have grown…” he added.
Along with his plaque, Stonebwoy also took home a GHC 10,000 cash award and a Kantanka Vehicle.
On Saturday night April 11, through to Sunday dawn at the Conference Centre in Accra, winners of the sixteenth edition of the Ghana Music Awards sponsored by telecom giant Vodafone, were announced and presented with their awards.
The annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is one of the biggest events on the Ghanaian entertainment calendar and this year’s edition promises to be exciting as usual.
There were also thrilling performances from Daddy Lumba, Wiyaala, Tinny, Tic Tac, Samini, Stonebwoy and Nigerian dancehall star, Patorankings.
