Cancer patient needs Gh¢52,000 to survive

Amidu needs GH¢1,000 a week to have a chemo-session
Ultimate 106.9 FM, a member of the EIB Network, is calling on corporate bodies, institutions, individuals and well-meaning Ghanaians to help raise funds for 18-year-old Hamdia Amidu who is suffering from a cancer involving the muscle tissue of the left cheek (Rhabdomyosarcoma).

According to Dr. Theodore Akollor at the Oncology Department of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Ms. Amidu needs a total amount of Gh¢52,000 to undergo chemotherapy for a year.

The cancerous condition has affected Ms. Amidu’s left ear and eye causing unbearable pains and making it difficult for her to hear or see.

Ms. Amidu, who is an SHS 2 student of Navrongo Girls Senior High School has dropped out of school due to her condition which has persisted for well over seven months.

She is currently being attended to by the Department of Oncology and the Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat (EENT) of KATH.

The hospital is confident the chemotherapy will help thaw out the tumour associated with the condition. She has to pay GH¢1,000 a week to have one chemo-session.

Ultimate FM is therefore calling on everybody to come to the aid of Ms. Amidu. You can kindly donate to the Accra Main branch or other branches of UniBank:
