The Black Stars of Ghana arrived to a rousing welcome Monday afternoon.
They were met on arrival by the Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur.
The Black Stars lost on penalties to the elephants of Ivory Coast in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations which was hosted by Equatorial Guinea.
Jubilant supporters also besieged the Kotoka International Airport to catch a glimpse of the gallant stars.
The Black Stars were only expected to do well at the Nations Cup but exceeded the expectations of many Ghanaians and made it to the final of the biennial competition beating South Africa and Algeria along the way.
Ghana would now have to wait for 2017 to see if they can win the trophy that has eluded the country since 1982.
