The 6-year-old daughter of celebrated Nigerian comedian, Ayo Makun, popularly called AY came back from school one day with a burning question regarding her father’s job, the comedian has revealed to Starr Entertainment.
According to AY, although there is a special bond between father and daughter, the adorable Michelle often has a reason to question his career choice.
“You know what, one day she called me up and said, daddy I went to school today and everybody was saying your daddy was just shaking his ‘bumbum’ on stage. Daddy why do you always do that? You embarrass me.
“And I said you know what, with that kind of embarrassment, that’s how you find yourself in the school that you go to right now. And she said go ahead and embarrass us. It is good,” he said in jest in an exclusive interview with Starr Entertainment’sJuanita Sallah.
AY is celebrated for his successes in the Nigerian comedy industry. Apart from being a multi-award winning comedian, he is also a radio and T.V presenter, writer, director and an MC; and has recently become one of the most successful movie producers alive in Nigeria.
The first and his only movie so far, 30 Days in Atlanta, is on top of the list of all high grossing movies in Nollywood and has made more than double the amount of money gathered by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Half of a Yellow Sun,which, until December 2014, was the highest with 60 million Naira.
The C.E.O of Corporate World Entertainment who is happy about his new level of success, says Michelle who will turn seven in a few days remains his biggest fan.
“You know sometimes, you see her trying to reenact some of the things that I do on stage, and good enough, I have that kind of polished brand that is very family friendly with kids”.
