A Sudanese supermodel living in New York has been missing for nearly two weeks.

Ataui Deng-Hopkins, 22, was last seen August 6 in Midtown Manhattan according to an NYPD spokesperson. Family have publicly said she was last seen two days later on the Lower East Side.

Ajak Deng, her aunt, posted a picture to Instagram, along with a description of the missing woman. It was the first time her disappearance was made public.

“MISSING: My friend Ataui Deng has been missing for 10 days. She was last seen in the Lower East Side of New York City. She is 5 feet 10 inches tall and slim. If you see her please email FindAtaui@gmail.com. Thank you.”

Police told AOL she was last seen leaving 251 West 48th Street just after 12:00 a.m. on August 6.

The missing model has not made any social media posts since going missing, and family claim to have not heard from her in the time since.

Manhattan’s Lower East Side is filled with restaurants, bars and clubs – it is often filled with people partying into the early hours of every morning – but is not known to be a particularly dangerous neighborhood.

Midtown Manhattan is also home to many bars and restaurants in the area Deng went missing, according to police.

Deng has been a runway and magazine fixture around the world in recent years, modeling for several fashion lines including Hermes, Rihanna’s River Island collection and others, according to her Twitter.

An NYPD spokesperson urged anyone with tips to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
