President John Mahama, today fulfilled his tax obligation for last fiscal year to the Ghana Revenue Authority. The filing of the income tax returns was done at Flagstaff House in Accra in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Comfort Boohene.
President Mahama encouraged all income earning Ghanaians to pay their tax as revenue from the taxes go into providing the required infrastructure. President Mahama receives royalties on his book “My First Coup D’etat” and also makes income from a family farm.
Deputy Commissioner of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Comfort Boohene congratulated the President on his promptness to file his tax returns.She urged Ghanaians to welcome government’s move to widen the tax net to accrue more revenue for national development.
