Government to solve Akwapem Water Problem

President John Dramani Mahama,says the perennial water problem in the Akwapem area will be solved this year as government prepares to inaugurate the kpong Water treatment expansion project. When this is done, the Akwapem ridge will be well served.

President Mahama, was addressing a Durbar of Chiefs and people at Akropong at the start of his two day working tour of the region. He has also commended the Chiefs and people for amicably settling a 20 year old protracted chieftaincy conflict which will make it possible for Akropong Akwapem to celebrate this years Odwira festival in unity.President Mahama, promised to join them to celebrate the festival in October.

Meanwhile in another development, the management of the Komfo Anokye Hospital in Kumasi says it has fully complied with the directive from the ministry of Health to provide it with detailed information about the missing baby saga. It is therefore waiting for a response from the ministry. The Public Relations Officer of the Hospital Kwame Frimpong made this known in an interview with Radio Ghana in Kumasi. Reports say the Management of the Komfo Anokye Hospital in Kumasi says it has fully complied with the directive from the ministry of Health to provide it with detailed information about the missing baby saga. It is therefore waiting for a response from the ministry. The Public Relations Officer of the Hospital Kwame Frimpong said.

At 3pm today the ministry of Health will hold a news conference to announce its findings and decision on the missing baby saga at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. The ministry promised to deal with the issue last week but postponed it due to the inability of the nurse and the midwifery council to present its report to the Health Ministry on time.
