Plant to recycle faecal matter into fertilizer installed around Korle-Lagoon.(With Pictures)

As efforts are being made to do away with the stench at the Korle-Lagoon, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly in collaboration with Denmark has set up a recycling composite plant close to the lagoon to process faecal matter into fertilizer for domestic use and export.

The plant is a Danish technology which has been tested for about fifty years and is able to receive about four septic tanks a day for processing. President John Mahama, who visited the plant pledged collaboration with Denmark to put more such plants in identified urban centres which have problems with waste disposal.
