Source: Ghana|Myjoyonline.comGeneral Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has said the NDC “will not fault” former Majority Leader, Alban Bagbin for his criticisms against the president and the party since some of the issues he raised were evident in the party. He said: “We want to tell the general public and our party members at large that many of the issues that have been raised by Hon. Bagbin have been raised in some internal meetings and structures that have been put in place to deal with some of the perceptions that Hon Bagbin referred to. “I will not fault him as such because during some of the internal communications we had in the party, these challenges were identified in those meetings and we are working very hard to smoothen out the internal communication.”
Mr. Alban Bagbin on Friday questioned President Mahama’s commitment to fighting corruption and has since come under criticism from some senior government officials.
But speaking on Eye Witness News, Mr Aseidu Nketia downplayed the criticisms made against the former Majority Leader, stressing that if the party had addressed the issues that Mr Bagbin raised earlier, it would not have faced such shattering criticisms.
Asked whether there was something chronically wrong with the party’s structures to merit such criticisms by Hon. Bagbin, he noted that effective communication within the party was a major challenge the party was battling with.
In that regard, he appealed to the communicators of the party not to use the media as a means of attacking senior members of the party
He also called for a ceasefire since measures were being taken to address the problems that the party was facing.
“Let me take the opportunity to call for cease fire and to give the assurance that these matters and other matters are being dealt with through party structures.”
Meanwhile outspoken member of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Ernest Owusu Bempah has equated the character of Presidential Staffer, Stan Dogbe, to ‘sycophancy.’
Speaking in an interview on PeaceFM News, Ernest Owusu Bempah detested the unbridled “disrespect” exhibited by Mr. Stan Dogbe towards the Former Minister of Health and Member of Parliament for Nadowli-Kaleo, Hon. Alban Bagbin.
According to him, Stan Dogbe’s experience in politics cannot be compared to the exploits of Hon. Alban Bagbin in the political landscape.
To him, Stan Dogbe is ‘shallow’ in politics and should be mindful of his utterances when addressing finest political figures like Hon. Bagbin.
He also warned him together with his colleagues to cease fire and not dare push Hon. Bagbin to the wall because, to him, “the things that he knows concerning President Mahama, His Excellency; if care is not taken, the information that he will disclose may not augur well when he’s pushed.”
Making inference from the claims made by Stan Dogbe, Owusu Bempah held Hon. Bagbin’s claims as the uttermost truth.
“There’s no iota of truth in what Stan Dogbe is saying. He’s just been a hypocrite and of course a sycophant.”
