Hearts of Oak put up a stellar performance as they defeated their local rivals Great Olympics 4-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday night.

The first half was a balanced game, but it was Hearts of Oak who took their chance when Joseph Esso scored from a rebound.

The Wonder Club came close to registering the equalizer afterwards yet they wasted a header from close range.

Great Olympics after the half-time break pushed more men upfront in search of the equalizer, but Hearts of Oak defended the ball very well to keep their opponent’s strikers at bay.

The tide tilted in favour of Accra Hearts of Oak and they doubled their lead when Benjamin Afutu headed home his first goal of the season.

Few minutes after the second goal, Afutu registered a brace from a rebound.

Hearts of Oak put the game beyond the reach of Gt Olympics when Daniel Afriyie Barnie scored the fourth goal of the night.
