Members and friends of the Brong-Ahafo Association of Chicago and The Midwest gathered recently at 6601 S. Kenzie Avenue in celebration of their annual Xmas party.
There was a lot to drink and eat. The president of the organization, Mr.Benjamin Kodom-Ayensu, informed the revelers that in partnership with the Council of Brong-Ahafo Association of North America,they built a school in the Brong-Ahafo region at the cost of 40 thousand dollars. The students used to have classes under trees and in the open.They also provided medical equipment and supplies to hospitals and clinics in the region ! In conclusion , Mr.Ayensu appealed to citizens of Brong-Ahafo in the Midwest to join hands with their brothers in the Association to help build a strong, vibrant and unified organization. The president of the Ghana National Council,GNC, Paa Kwasi Sam graced the occasion with his presence . Mr.Sam used the occasion to reiterate his vision to obtain a community center for the Ghanaian community.He appealed to the members of the association to seek information from their representatives on the GNC to avoid misinformation. Mr. Seth Nkansah , a member and elder of the Ghanaian community was in attendance.The presidents of the Ewe and Okyeman Associations, Messers Steve Dei and Joe Danso respectively, were also present.
The program was emceed by the Secretary of the Association, Mr Effah Ameyaw , popularly called “Kakape” and Madam Joyce Fosuaa, the women leader of the Association.
Mr Emmanuel Asare of the Koforidua Kuo of Chicago , was there with his wife to wish the BA Association all the best in the coming year.
