The Ghana National Council, GNC, in partnership with The Jemimah Noonoo Foundation, The Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Christian Faith International Ministries, Gold Coast Home Health Inc., Council of Ghanaian Churches and Ghanaian Pharmacists Association of the Midwest, organized a Community Health and Wellness exposition at the premises of the Christian Faith and International Ministries, Romeoville Illinois. Like last year, the program was a great success! Over three hundred members of the community attended. The program was free for all the beneficiaries. A dedicated team of volunteer healthcare professionals including, doctors, pharmacists, nurses and nurse practitioners, discussed preventative healthcare measures and conducted wellness screenings which included cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure and information on autism. Also, medication reconciliation, effects and side effects, nutrition counseling, Fitness, Women’s Health, Depression and much more were provided.
The church halls dedicated for the program were literally turned into a clinic! There was a registration center, medical consultation and screening rooms, waiting areas and importantly dining area! The program was educational and interactive and served the purpose for preventive medicine and wellness screening.
The president of the Ghana National Council. Paa Kwasi Sam thanked the volunteers, sponsors and members of the community for coming in their numbers to make the program a success.
Eunice Cromwell, Business manager of the GNC and coordinator of the program assured members of the community that there is another exposition slated for August this year in Chicago Illinois.
