The Alliance for Social Equity and Accountability (ASEPA) is crying foul when it was slapped with a High Court restraining order, barring the pressure group from going ahead with its scheduled demonstration against the controversial Agyapa deal. The group mentioned in a statement released on its public whatsup platform that a group of demonstrators from Akyem area in the Eastern Region, were given the nod by the Ghana Police administration to demonstrate under the same COVID-19 restrictions a week or so ago. It therefore appears that the Police administration have ignored the advise of Nana Osei Tutu II , when he advised the heads of the Police administration to avoid political patronage and serve the country without bias and with dignity.
We reproduce the full statement by the group below :

The Greater Accra Regional Command has today written to reject a notification for a demonstration against the fraudulent Agyapa Deal.

This comes days after the Police allowed a group of people in Akyem to organize a demonstration.

We are extremely disappointed with this outcome especially when the same E.I the Police is citing today as an excuse existed when the Akyem group were allowed to demonstrate.

We have hereby referred the response of the police to our lawyers for appropriate action.
