President John Dramani Mahama began a two-country state visit to The Gambia and Senegal on Friday, January 17, 2025, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and ensuring peaceful coexistence between Ghana and its West African neighbors. The visit also provided an opportunity for President Mahama to express his gratitude to the heads of state for attending his inauguration ceremony on January 7, 2025.

Upon arriving at Banjul International Airport, President Mahama was warmly received by Gambian President Adama Barrow, who hosted him at a state luncheon. The two leaders then engaged in a private meeting, discussing ways to strengthen bilateral relations between their countries. Their conversation highlighted the strong camaraderie between them, setting a positive tone for future collaborations.
After completing his engagements in Banjul, President Mahama traveled to Senegal, further solidifying Ghana’s commitment to regional cooperation and peaceful coexistence.
