President John Dramani Mahama delivered a powerful inaugural address at the Black Star Square, outlining his vision for Ghana’s economic revival, inclusivity, and governance reforms. Mahama’s speech emphasized accountability, innovation, and unity, calling on Ghanaians to join him in a national reset to build a more prosperous and resilient country.
Mahama expressed his gratitude to voters for their confidence in his leadership, promising that their votes would translate into tangible change. He pledged to make decisions that will positively impact the destiny of the nation, governing with sound judgment and taking responsibility for addressing the challenges facing the country.
The new president also honored his predecessor, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, despite their political differences. Mahama reflected on their shared history, noting that they both began their national political careers in parliament in 1996. “While we belong to opposing parties, we share a sense of mutual respect,” he stated.
Mahama’s administration will focus on implementing a 24-hour economy, which aims to create jobs, stabilize the economy, and attract foreign investment ¹ ². He urged the private sector to support this vision, emphasizing the need for collaboration to drive economic growth.
