The Jemimah Noonoo Foundation was established by Mrs. Eunice Cromwell and her family, in honor of her sister Jemimah after her passing in 2015 to carry on her dream of developing a charity organization that would provide education and resources to the residents of the coastal village of Anomabo. Anomabo is located in the Mfantsiman District of Central Region, Ghana. About sixty-four communities are located within the Anomabo Traditional Area, and these communities on the same social amenities such as schools, health centers, police post and markets.

We are guided by the need to empower lives by disabling dependency. We want to be a primary source of education and healthcare to the residents of Anomobo as part of our ultimate plan of creating a self-sustaining community.

Mrs. Eunice Cromwell, CEO and Founder of the foundation told Ghana And Beyond.

The Jemimah Noonoo Foundation exists to empower families and strengthen our mission to develop a self-sustaining community by promoting economic, social, physical, and spiritual growth through education. To achieve these goals, The Jemimah Noonoo Foundation is focused on providing the children of the Anomabo community with educational resources such as books, computers, and various school supplies. Education is the foundation of economic and social growth. As health education is one of the major hurdles faced by the people of Anamobo, JNF also seeks to enhance access to health care of the health challenges such as malaria, maternal/infant mortality and teenage pregnancy. JNF seeks to improve access to health care by; providing donations to enhance care delivery, energy access to clean water, along with transportation, which is also among the common challenges faced in the Anomobo community. They are focused on improving access to these resources as part of our vision of empowering future generations.

In achieving these goals, the foundation has embarked on several projects including;

  • PROVIDING INFRASTRUCTURAL SUPPORT. BUILDING A DREAM.
    The foundation is currently completing the construction of a house started by Jemimah which is integral to the growth of our project. A settlement house will enable us to offer educational, agricultural and healthcare resources directly to the community.
Building a settlement home in Anomabo.
  • COVID19 outreach program (Provision of PPEs and Medication)
    Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the foundation has continuously provided the Anomabo community with PPEs and medication to help them with the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • Medical Health Screening
    On Saturday, December 28th, the foundation also provided free health screening to over 500 people living in Anomabo and its surrounding areas. Patients were screened and treated for ailments such as hypertension, diabetes, malaria, and acute infections among others. Referrals were also given and a follow-up program was instituted in collaboration with the hospital to ensure quality evidence-based care for the patients. The foundation also used the opportunity to donate some school supplies to the Methodist Primary school and clothes to the Methodist Church as well.

Aside from these activities already undertaken by the foundation, it hopes to embark on a number of other projects by collaborating with other local organizations to help improve education and the general health of the people they help.

As a foundation, we believe that the achievement of these goals will require a partnership with the community. We intend to create an environment where people express and follow their curiosity and where the critical examination of ideas are welcome and encouraged. Mrs. Eunice Cromwell said, The Jemimah Noonoo Foundation, calls upon members of the Anomobo community to collaborate with us in this endeavor towards building a better society for all of us, she added
