In a thrilling display of political maneuvering, two of Ghana’s most prominent presidential candidates, John Dramani Mahama and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stormed the Ga Traditional Council on the eve of the campaign finale.
The two candidates, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) respectively, were on a mission to win the hearts and minds of the Ga Traditional Council, a powerful and influential institution in Ghanaian politics.
Mahama, a seasoned politician and former President of Ghana, was the first to arrive at the council. He was warmly received by the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru, and other traditional leaders. Mahama took the opportunity to outline his vision for the Ga State, promising to address the concerns of the Ga people and promote their welfare.
Not to be outdone, Dr. Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate, arrived shortly after Mahama’s departure. Bawumia, known for his charismatic personality and impressive policy credentials, was also warmly received by the Ga Traditional Council. He presented a comprehensive plan for the development of the Ga State, highlighting his commitment to improving the lives of the Ga people.
The simultaneous visits by Mahama and Bawumia to the Ga Traditional Council have been seen as a strategic move to woo the influential institution ahead of the election finale. As Ghana prepares to go to the polls on December 7, the two candidates are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for victory.
The Ga Traditional Council’s endorsement is highly coveted, as it is believed to hold significant sway over the voting decisions of the Ga people. With the election finale just around the corner, the council’s backing could prove to be a decisive factor in the outcome of the presidential election.
