A recent medical report from the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) has provided insight into the condition of Elrad Salifu Amoako, the son of renowned preacher Salifu Amoako, who was involved in a fatal car accident in East Legon. The accident, which occurred on October 12, 2024, resulted in the deaths of two young girls and left Amoako with severe injuries.
According to the report, dated October 29, 2024, Amoako suffered an open right ankle dislocation and facial lacerations. He underwent surgery, including debridement, external fixation, and a flap cover, and is currently mobilizing non-weight bearing on his right leg. Dr. Fred Salawu, the attending physician, has stated that Amoako requires further treatment and is not currently fit to be sent to the police station for interrogation due to his ongoing medical treatment.
Dr. Salawu has assured that he will inform the relevant authorities when Amoako is deemed fit for interrogation, addressing concerns and speculation surrounding potential preferential treatment. The UGMC’s report provides a clear picture of Amoako’s medical condition, alleviating some of the public’s concerns.
The fatal accident has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for justice for the victims’ families. Media personality Afia Pokuaa has weighed in on the issue, emphasizing the responsibility of Amoako’s parents. Meanwhile, a video showing Amoako escaping from his burning Jaguar has surfaced on social media.
As Amoako continues his recovery, the public eagerly awaits updates on the investigation into the fatal accident. The incident has raised questions about accountability and the influence of powerful figures in Ghanaian society.
