The National Service Scheme (NSS) has officially transformed into the National Service Authority, (NSA) following Parliament’s passage of the National Service Authority Act. This transition enabled the authority to implement robust measures against fraudulent payments.

Director-General Osei Assibey Antwi spearheaded innovative systems to prevent corruption. The NSS Metric Application, deployed in 2022, utilizes biometric facial recognition for verification and authentication.

This digital transformation saved Ghana over GHc251 million by preventing fraudulent activities and blocked 35,000 individuals from illegally accessing the database. Personnel can now check postings online, eliminating lengthy travels.

Assibey Antwi praised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s dedication to youth development. The National Service Authority remains committed to empowering youth for nation-building.

The authority’s digital shift significantly impacts Ghana’s youth development and national expenditures. Its enhanced security, increased efficiency and financial savings underscore the authority’s effectiveness.

“Over GHc251 million has been saved through this system,” Assibey Antwi stated. “It prevented 35,000 people from fraudulently accessing our database.”

Assibey Antwi emphasized the authority’s role in preparing youth for nation-building, applauding presidential commitment to youth development.
