Police Restore Calm in Walewale After NPP Primary Disruption, One Arrested

Walewale, Ghana – The Ghana Police Service has successfully restored calm in Walewale following a disruption during the vote-counting process in the ongoing re-run of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primary.

According to a police statement, one person, identified as Kamara Bawah, was arrested for causing damage to some ballot papers. The suspect is currently in custody and is assisting with the police investigation.

The incident had sparked tensions in the area, but the swift intervention of the police has ensured that law and order have been maintained. Security has been strengthened within Walewale and its environs to prevent any further disruptions.

The police have assured the public that they are committed to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for all electoral processes. The NPP primary re-run is expected to continue without any further incidents.
