The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has announced a nine-member committee to oversee the 28th Annual GJA Media Awards, scheduled for September 28, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Chaired by George-Ramsey Benamba, Chief Editor at the Ghana News Agency, the committee comprises experienced media professionals, including Jamila Akweley Okertchiri, Loretta Vanderpuye, and Isaac Yeboah.

The committee will review entries and select winners in 36 award categories, including the newly introduced Akoto Ampaw Award for Democracy & Good Governance. Other coveted awards include the P. A. V. Ansah Journalist of the Year, Best Female Journalist of the Year, and Best Student Journalist of the Year.

This year’s ceremony, marking the climax of the GJA’s 75th anniversary, promises to be bigger and better, with national and international dignitaries expected to attend. The GJA has expressed excitement about MTN Ghana’s return as a sponsor and calls on Corporate Ghana to support the event.
