Former Dutch Coach of Ashanti Gold, Berekum Chelsea, Kpando Hearts of Lions, Hans Van der Pluijm has commended Mr. Ransford Antwi, for his high sense of patriotism.
Mr. Antwi, the man who was recently revealed by former FA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, for engineering the PUMA deal, the first kit sponsorship in the history of the Black Stars and other National Teams, contrary to public pressure, to seek legal means to pursue his fair share of compensation, decided not to choose that path, insisting he did it for his Country,Ghana.
Responding to the story, Mr. Van der pluijm commended the Sunyani-based businessman, for teaching Ghanaians about patriotism. Writing on his Facebook wall, he wrote ” Ransford Antwi, thank you, have taught Ghana as a whole, a lesson about patriotism.Hopefully, they will learn from it, and show appreciation
to the right ones”
Football enthusiasts across the world have applauded Mr. Antwi for his selfless service to his nation, and have called on the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ghana Football Association to adequately compensate him, to serve as an inspiration to the youth of the country.
According to some of them, our leaders must demonstrate that Ghana is a country worth dying for, particularly in this era of most people placing their interests above that of the country to the extent of even destroying our water bodies.
It is not ordinary to see a young Ghanaian man in his early thirties (eighteen years ago) to broker such an important kit sponsorship deal for the country without seeking to financially benefit from it.
