Syria conflict: General ‘defects to rebels’

A Syrian army general has reportedly defected to the opposition, saying that morale in the army had collapsed. Storm-hit areas in the North declared disaster zones

The Government has declared seven areas which were recently hit by rainstorms in the Northern region as disasters areas.
