PRESS RELEASE ON THE GOVERNMENT’S DECISION NOT TO PAY NURSE’S TRAINEES’ ALLOWANCES TILL AUGUST.
CONCERN GHANA NURSE’S AND MIDWIVES TRAINEES ASSOCIATION (GNMTA)
It is with great sorrow that the government which won election on the basis of making people enjoy what is due them has turned its back to those values ! This has resulted in those who supported the Government on such principles to suffer more !
While we appreciate the last years allowance we received, it has brought more harm than good into our lives . This is because those who supported us financially because we didn’t have any support withdrew their support after the government started paying the allowances.
After trusting the government, now it appears our trust has been thrown to the dogs and we are left to the whims and caprices of the harsh realities of the economic environment we find ourselves !
Our preference is that the government continues with the two monthly payments being made to members of the
GNMTA than the current drastic curtailment payment schedule!
It is our sincere hope that His Excellency , the President , Nana Addo Dankwa Akolgo Addo and the ministry of health with the health training institutions Secretariat , take immediate steps to review the current situation and come out with a permanent and reasonable solution .
We believe that would help to resolve the issues amicably and prevent it from recurring in the future!
The NATIONAL GHANA NURSE’S And MIDWIVES TRAINEES ASSOCIATION hereby humbly call on His Excellency , Nana Akuffo Addo, to ensure the payment of the appropriate monthly allowances due to every student nurse with immediate effect.
We take this opportunity to extend to all nurse trainees and and all citizens of Ghana, our best wishes on the occasion of the 61st anniversary celebrations of our dear country
Convenor of the group…
