Yesterday’s appointment of Martin Amidu as special prosecutor has drawn headline comments across Ghana and Ghanaian communities the diaspora !
Aspiring flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Honorable Sylvester Mensah also shared his opinion to some members of the NDC today!
In a whatsup message, Sly advised that emotional outbursts and public disapproval of Senior Comrade Martin Amidu is certainly not the way to go. Let’s examine the intended effect of such uncharitable comments. Whatsapp, no matter how closed, remains social media or public space. I share the view that we avoid derogatory comments if we are unable to commend him for the honour and recognition. Let’s appreciate it’s a double edged sword and we may have the last laugh. For now there is no plan or strategy in putting out ‘mourning pictures’, apology letter or unkind statements. We are fixed no doubt! “NPP appoints former NDC Minister for Justice and Attorney General as Special Prosecutor” The international community see this nomination as fair and neutral. Comrade Martin Amidu has a reputation of fairness and firmness to protect. He has an integrity and ego to feed, but above all he would want posterity to be generous in judgment of his tenure. Let’s credit him with professionalism, competence, fairness and commonsense. We all make mistakes out of anger. Let’s open a new chapter for him and encourage him on the tasks ahead. I guess the opposite is not useful. Our platforms must be tamed on this issue.
