Matteson IL, December 2 2017: The successful maiden Xmas dinner dance by the Southern Volta Association, SVA, last year was repeated this year as members gathered at Matteson Illinois to socialize, eat , drink and dance! With mostly traditional Agbadza music vibrating the atmosphere in the basement of 5291 Providence Drive, members , their families and friends were cheering wild, drinking, dancing , eating and merrymaking. Traditional and authentic Ghanaian dishes, especially from the Volta Region of Ghana were diverse and mouthwatering.
The new President of the SVA, Paul Sogbe, thanked members for the trust reposed in him. He also restated that the SVA is not a splinter group from the Ewe Association of Metropolitan Chicago. The SVA, the newly sworn-in President reassured, is a welfare organization that seeks to empower its members and assist each other in times of need.
The emcee was Mr. Steve Dei, President of the Ewe Association of Metropolitan Chicago.
